It's really important to Art Loves Sport to not only show sportart by world renowned and famous artists. Shown here are also the new, young and up and coming artists who chose sports as their subject. It's the same love for the game which brings both types of artists and everyone in between to make their artworks. Quality has to be good of course, but showing established and new together gives the online museum extra say.
Dutch painter Arne Hiddingh is definitely part of a new group of painters. According to his website he only started painting in 2012! He taught himself everything he knows and the results are beautiful portraits, which stay true to reality. He is continously searching for that one look which characterizes the person. Over the years he has painted portraits of Dutch football legends like Wim Kieft, Bryan Roy, Marco van Basten and Clarence Seedorf. But also international stars like Ronaldo (the first one!), Xavi and Paolo Maldini were made threw his brushstrokes.
A friend of mine pointed me to Arne's work and the works captivated me. If he has made these works in only a couple of years, I am looking forward to what he has in store in the future! If you are too, be sure to take a look on his website and follow him on Instagram!
