Jonas Wood is an artist whose style fuses a range of influences and media, from collages, drawing, and photography to pop art and cubism. With more pop art artist featured here, and athletes being part of popular culture, it's not a coincidence Jonas also had a lot of sport inspired works. When I found out he also exhibited at one of my favourite musea in the world, The Saatchi Gallery, I got even more respect for this artist and had to show him to you.
With a style reminiscind of Edward Hopper he portrays well-know American athletes and icons. For instance one of the most recognisable teammates Manute Bol (7'7) and Muggsy Bogues (5'3) while playing with the Bullets. But also basketball cards and even wallpaper. I would like it on the walls at my office!
See more of his work at the David Kordansky Gallery.
