Ortho Owen

(1953-1994)

Ortho Owen was a Canadian artist, who moved to my hometown Amsterdam, for love and for his art. The final 16 years of his life he stayed there and made a lot of artworks. His sport paintings and prints were a means to make money, so he would be able to fund his artist life. That does not make his paintings less appealing!

Unfortunately he died at age 41, 10 years after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. But he should not be forgotten!

Read more about him on his website:

His work is sold at sportsgallery Sparts in Amsterdam.
