Roald Bradstock has most possibly the best nickname for an artist making sports inspired art. If they call you The Olympic Picasso you are doing something really right! But calling him just an artist doesn't do him justice. He was an Olympic javelin thrower and is a painter, sculptor and extensive program developer.
How does he do it? He is supposed to have insane high energy, unflagging optimism and is a multi talent. He started drawing when he was five years old and has never stopped. A scholarship as a javelin thrower landed him in the States. Roald competed in the '84 and '88, and was an alternate at the '92 and '96 Olympics. He is a former World Record holder and current World Masters Record holder in the javelin. Well-deserved media attention has come his way and he has an adoring fan base world wide.
His art is as multifaceted as it's maker. It breathes energy, blows you away with big imagery and bright colors and you can just feel the love for sports
Roald Bradstock is truly one of a kind and this selection of works and this short intro doesn't do him justice. So be sure to read more about and see more of his inspiring story and art on his website. The Olympic Picasso. Best. Nickname. Ever.
