Summer seems to be officially over in Amsterdam the last couple of weeks. So it's no suprise my mind is already going in winter status dreaming about hitting the slopes. There is just no other explanation for 'Lords of the boards' by the Guano Apes being Sportsong of the Week #16. Is there?

Guano Apes is a German rock band formed in 1994. The band's first success came after they won a local competition with the song 'Open Your Eyes', which became the first and most successful single of their debut album Proud Like a God.

The third single was 'Lords of the Boards', which was a commissioned song fot the 1998 European Snowboarding Championship. There are two official music videos. The one shown here you can see the Apes give a shoe in a ski lodge, mixed with footage of them at a ski field, as well as snowboarding clips.

Takes me back to the slopes and the apres ski! Can't wait to meet the lord of the boards on the way flying down! Good weekend y'all!
