Andy Warhol doesn't need an introduction. One of the most recognizable artists of his time. One of the faces of popart. And not strangely, because sports are pop(ular), Andy Warhol has a place here.

In 1977 Richard Weisman commissioned Andy Warhol to create ten portraits of athletic superstars: now known as The Athletes Series. Very expensive works of art, between

$4,000,000 - $6,000,000. Here I show three out of the series: Brazilian soccer star Pelé, boxing legend Muhammad Ali and basketball hall of famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
